Thane was born and raised in Turlock, California, in the heart of California's Central Valley. Thane graduated from Turlock High School in 2002 and attended California State University, Stanislaus in Northern California. He transferred to California State University, Long Beach and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science.
Thane attended Whittier Law School and received his Juris Doctorate in May 2010. He was a member of the Whittier Law School Trial Advocacy Honors Board where he learned the rules of evidence, trial preparation and presentation. Thane competed in the 2009 California Attorneys for Criminal Justice national trial competition in San Francisco, California. Thane was later awarded the best opening statement of a 2009 – 2010 competing member by the team's coaching staff.

While in law school, Thane worked for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Long Beach branch as a certified law clerk from June 2008 through June 2009. Thane was choen from numerous candidates to assist with two 32-year-old death penalty cases that were overturned on appeal. In addition, Thane researched and wrote several motions and special circumstance memorandums. He assisted in the preparation of a second-degree murder trial and conducted preliminary hearings.

Thane joined Falangetti & Weimortz in January 2010 as a law clerk. He has played a very important role behind the scenes and drafted many of the firm's motions and memorandums. Some of the firm's greatest victories have come from top notch negotiating and stellar written product that has resulted in countless favorable dispositions for our clients.
Thane was admitted to practice in the State of California in December 2010 and joined Falangetti & Weimortz as "Of Counsel."

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE CASES
Thane handles all of Falangetti & Weimortz's misdemeanor cases. The majority of Thane's experience includes driving under the influence (DUI) cases. He handles all of the firm's DUI cases and DMV administrative per se hearings. Thane has taken two DUI cases to jury trial. Thane is exceptionally skilled at using DMV hearing to better his client's results in a DUI case.
Thane has the ability to look at a case and know how to dissect a case to achieve the best results for his clients. With his attack from all angles approach, thorough analysis and well versed motion work, Thane is able to combine all of his strengths to protect his clients and achieve outstanding results.
